Taste Our Wine

We offer five types of wine for sampling and varying years for purchase.  Tasting fees are $10, and $12 for groups of 8 or more.

Plan Your Visit

  • Bring your own food. Small offerings are for sale (e.g. cheese and crackers).
  • Bring your pet. We expect your pet to be people and pet friendly.
  • If you have a party of 8 or more, please contact us prior to your visit.
  • Retired and active members of the U.S. military receive discounts. We thank you for your service.
  • Patrons must be of legal drinking age (21 years) to drink.

Quick Facts 

  • Cabernet sauvignon,  merlot, petit verdot, and viognier grapes grow on 9000 vines across 9 acres.
  • We produce 500-1000 cases of wine per year.
  • Our reds reside for 2 years in French oak barrels of varying wood age.
  • All of our wines are sourced from our vineyard located here in the Monticello AVA.
  • All of our wine is made in our winery.

Learn Our Terroir 

  • Rich, rocky, clay-like soil ideal for vinifera.
  • 800-1000 ft. of elevation ideal for avoiding frost damage.
  • Temperate air from the Atlantic Ocean settling on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge ideal for warm days and cool nights.
  • Western-facing moderate slope ideal for drainage.

From Charlottesville, VA:  At Stonefield Commons - the intersection of routes 29 and 743 - take 743 north through Earlysville. 743 becomes route 663 as you turn right onto Simmons Gap Road. Follow Simmons Gap/route 663 into Nortonsville. We're on the left.

From the District of Columbia:  Take 66 West to route 29 south at Gainesville, VA. Travel 29 south through Culpeper turning right onto route 230 through Stanardsville. Merge onto route 33 after Stanardsville and turn left onto route 810. Follow 810 to route 663 and turn right through Nortonsville. We're on the left.

From Roanoke, VA:  Take 81 North to 64 East toward Charlottesville. Take the ramp for route 250 east/Ivy road. Travel a short distance to route 240 north through Crozet where 240 becomesl route 810. Follow 810 through Whitehall to route 628/Simmons Gap Road. Turn right. Travel a mile or two on Simmons Gap. We're on the right.

Because we seek to elevate Virginia winemaking, we encourage you to visit other vineyards and wineries along the Monticello Wine Trail and throughout the state. Glass House Winery, Stone Mountain Vineyards, and Kilaurwen Winery are close to us.
